Nortel 2700 VPN intermittent timeout issue.

Got a strange problem here. A couple of users on the Nortel 2700 Conecticty switch are getting rare intermittent timeouts and slow connection speeds. I would say roughly 4 out of 40 are having this or a similar problem. I cant seem to find any good pointers on the Nortel site or searching. Anyone have any idea where the problem may reside?

Do you know if you have keepalives enabled?
If a keepalive did not make it back in time, it will usually cause the client to disconnect due to time-out. Disable that on both Contivity and Client.

No, thats not it. Oddley enough it seems to be that if a user gets assigned the same IP address to often they get these poor/no VPN connections. What seems to work is if they have a problem switch the VPN from dynamic to static IP or vice versa depending on the original position. But keep switching a user back and forth between static and dynamic IP's isnt a fix. Not to mention it is a royal pain. I am at a loss. Anyone ideas?
