We are currently using the Amcom PC Smart Console on a Nortel CS1000E with 2250 consoles. We have used this set up for several years. We recetnly moved our operators from their original site that had a CS1000M that had been upgraded from an option 61C.
Intermittently, we have had problems with dropped digits when transferring calls. In the old location, we had tried swapping consoles, pc's and key boards. The problem might go away for a while after swapping one of the components, but would eventually return.
We moved to our current location back in Oct. This is a brand new switch, with all new wire, but the problem persists. Yesterday, I was told they had a console dropping digits and they were sure the problem was the console. I put the console in a different station, with a different operator and so far, have not had any issue and it has been in place for more than 12 hours, with faily heavy use this morning.
When the digits are dropped, this displays on the pc console. Can anyone tell me how this all works? My assumption is that the pbx sends the incoming call info to the pc console via the connection to the 2250 console. When that call is transferred out, it seems to me that the info displayed on the pc console is what is sent to the pbx, so if digits are dropped, they are being dropped on the pc console end, not the 2250 console.
I am hoping someone has a better understanding of how this works than I do. Please Help!
