Were adding new 1150 phones in our Existing CS1000. We have a working 1120 phones in the system and were just having problems adding the new 1150 phones.

We have 2 CS1000 a Main and Backup. The problem the 1150 phones are registering in the backup CS1000 and displaying local mode. I've checked the network configuration in the 1150 phone it's getting the correct S1 and S2 ip address. I'm able to ping the Main CS1000 ip address from the phone but still it won't register.

The existing 1120 phones are working fine. Just to make sure I've compared the TN configuration of the 1120 to our 1150 nothing is different.

Is there a way to set a priority for the phones to register in the main cs1000?
Do I need to make some changes in the main CS1000 for then to accept the new 1150?

I'm just a newbie in the phone system and really more on data.

If they are displaying Local Mode it sounds like you have a Branch Office. Correct? Is it possible you are out of IP licenses at the main site? Is your firmware up to date for the 1150 phones?

I agree it sounds like a license issue at the main site...

If its a branch office configuration, maybe the call server (located in the standby site) is in Active mode instead of Standby?

Basically we have 100 license in the Main CS1000 and 400 in the Backup CS1000. The main CS1000 is in a different location and the Backup is here located locally. I did OUT one the TN configured for Phone Typr 1120 and configured it with Phone Type 1150.

It means that I cannot register 1 1150 in our Main even just for testing purposes?
We only have 70 1120 phones and I'm planning to reconfigure the 30 for 1150.

@ KCFLHRC - I'll need to double check if it's using the updated FW but when the phone registered locally it already performed a FW upgrade.

Another question is the Nortel License transferrable?

I'll reconfigure the other 29 TN's to 1150 to test if the 1150 will register in the our Main CS1000.

Thanks for the help I'm already working with this issue for 3 days and wondering that I need to make config in the our Main for the 1150 to work.

Just an update I've configured 5 ll50 but still all phones are in local mode.

1150 FW version is 0627C60 but not sure if this is the latest FW available.

I'm not really sure why the 1120's are working fine but the 1150's are in local mode.

C6O corresponds to UNIStim 3.2 and is eleven versions behind the current (UNIStim 5.4 - C8L). You can check for current by going to support.avaya.com.

I believed we have same issue on this thread798-1649272.

But when I'm removing the NHTN configuration in the main office it gives me an error SCH1942

SCH1942

I'm not sure how to deal with this error message SCH1942.

Hi. Try configuring 1150 in the main and branch.
point MOTN and BUID in branch the same as in the main. it usualy works fine. :)

Thanks for all the reply our 1150 is now registered. It's a DNS issue causing our 1150 to stay in local mode. We just leave the DNS setting in the 1150 blank and phone register to Main office. It's weird because our 1120 have the same DNS in the phones but it's working fine.

We set BUID and MOTN in the branch Office at the same time.
