Customer has Nortel 0x32 with PRI that has been up and working 7+years and been with same PRI carrier since 2009. About 4-5 months ago it started that they would dial certain numbers and it will ring twice or even be answered on other end but then call gets dropped. It is only certain numbers of which we know 8-10 for sure and they are all local calls but to all 3 of the local area codes and different exchanges (NPA-NXX-xxxx). Other calls dial out and stay connected fine. Carrier has checked PRI and we even tested with a different brand of phone system with PRI and calls go through fine and stay connected except when calling out from Nortel. It is happening from all digital and analog phones on the Nortel. We’ve gone through all the Set restriction, Line restriction and all other programming to try to fine cause but can’t find anything. Anyone that has ideas or has seen this before, it would be greatly appreciated.

There were issues with that software and PRI with certain switches, the following is from "ITAS SRN-019 February 2000"

The symptoms encountered are as follows. Users would see a " Not In Service" message when trying to transfer (F70), Voice Call (F66), direct station to station, Voice Mail transfers (F986) and Call Park (F74). The ‘Not in Service’ message was seen on originating sets only. Another manifestation could be users
experiencing dropped internal and external calls.

If I had to guess I think that maybe your provider has done some maitenance or an upgrade to their switches. This could be why your are just now seeing issues that you did not see in the past. The only fix I know of is to upgrade your MICS to 7.1.

Following upgrade to MICs 5.0, Inbound calls failed to route correctly, even after rechecking all programming. Swapped T1 card from Slot 1 to Slot 2 on Channels 24 - 47 and able to start receiving Inbound calls, but found that Voicemails CFNA to Voicemail box not routing correctly. From any extension, calls are being routed to an Information mailbox vs the individual user's mailbox. Inbound calls stopped working on Slot 2. Moved back to Slot 1 and again able to receive Inbound calls, but Voicemail still not routing correctly.

Has anybody ever seen anything like this? We shouldn't have a KSU/NAM Software conflict at MICs 5.0 and NAM 4.0.

And more bad news is that 5.0 also had certain issues with PRI's. As far as I know the software that corrected all the issues was the last MR of 6.1. Also 7.0 or 7.1 is good but like curly says none of theses are compatible with the NAM 4.0.
