Norstar Voice Quality

Installed a Norstar system with T7316E phones - have noticed that the voice quality is not good. Sounds like they are talking on a cell phone connection. Are there any system settings that effect voice quality, or is this an issue with the phone sets themselves?

I have had problems with the new global cards. Replace them with legacy NT7B75GA and the problem might go away.
 
The system is a CICS 6.1. The voice quality I am refering to is that of callers calling out of the norstar system, not necessarily that of calls coming in.
 
The issues I had were both in and out on a CICS with Global CallerID card. T series phones. M series seemed a little better, but the fix was swapping the line card. You can also try adjusting the distance to CO settings to see if that helps.
