Norstar VM 2.20 failing?

We are having to reboot this system sometimes 2-3 times daily. I want to change it out from the one it is currently to a NAM not sure which version 3.0? The systems is MICS-XC 2.0.

1. Can I use the backup of the old VM, since it is not a NAM?

2. This is a copper vm and I need to go to fiber interface, any unseen issues?

You cannot restore a backup from one device/software release to a different one.
