I haveaproblem with the new T7406e cordless.
I have installed 2 in the last week with the same problem. On a CICS 7.1, the handsets (in each case 2) start flashing on the screen "line 1, intercon, function, line 1 etc. " and the appropriate lights on the handset light up. Each item flashes for a second. On a T7316 the "in uses" icon lights up for the line 1 every time it flashes on the cordless' screen. I've removed the batteries from the cordless' but it continues after re-initializing. The only way to stop it is pulling the power on the base unit. HELP.

I have to think that the problem is something physical in your install since I can't see two setups with identical problems from the manufacturere like that.

did you wire the base station with their wierd wiring scheme? (so much for standard wiring setups)

jerry,
I wired as per the weird setup and got green lights acroos the board. the handsets would work fine for a while before going haywire.

I have had similer things happen if the batteries were not charged up correctly. Leave the spare batteries in the charger for 24 hrs then replace the ones in the handset with those.

Sounds like you have 2 handsets connected to one base. Have you tried hooking up only one at a time? Just a suggestion.

I've had some strange things happen with the older t7406's. We had 2 handsets, and 2 basestations to cover halves of a building. About 6 months after the install, I got called out. Apparently, they'd gotten a power surge, and both handsets ended up registering as the same extension on one of the bases. Everytime one went off hook, so did the other, etc...

Re-assigning passwords and SN's fixed it.
