I have been using Norstar Voice Mail Manager ver 4.0 for PC access to the Voice mail system over our LAN and it has worked great and is much easier to use than the phone keypad. For some reason out of the blue I now receive “Error communicating with server” when trying to access the voice mail across the LAN. I can ping the I.P. address of the voice mail server and it responds, but it will not let me connect. I switched out cables, checked all configurations with no prevail. Does anyone know what could have happened to break the communication when all has been good? Just looking to see if there is a bug, fix, upgrade or network change I need to make. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My vendor tells me this is a symptom of a Blaster virus variant on your network.

The NAM is NOT infected with the virus, but something about the way the virus hammers the network does "bad things" to the unit.

Rebooting the NAM will fix this condition.

I'm told there is no patch available or planned to fix this issue.
