I am the network specialist for a state agency and am hoping I can do some
simple administration on my phone system to save a little money. Our phone
person comes 140 miles so a service call is not cheap. (Hey, it's my tax
money, too)

Please correct any terminology that's wrong. Our phone sets are Norstar
T7316, the controllers are marked Enterprise Edge 1000 and 1000e. One of
them also shows 32DSI.

If someone can give me the feature code and default password to get into
programming I would appreciate it. The instructions I found on the internet
said to use Feature **266344 to enter programming. When I enter those
numbers, the feature just times out.

I only want to be able to change a user's name on the display and to be able
to reassign phone sets.

Norbert

Hi.

That feature code would be: Feature **797836 (system)
Password: 266344 (config)

Give that a try. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Good Luck! D. McCall

Given this is an enterprise edge you would have to access the programming **797836, And or going in through your browser with the ip address of the BCM. I think that 10.1.1.1 is the default. Jeter@LasVegas.com

Norbl;

The good news is that you have one of the best phone systems in the world. And one reason is its comprehensive and flexible programming capabilities.

Once you become familiar with its menu hierarchy, read a little in the manuals, and play with the system, you will probably find that it is your friend, not your enemy.

This cannot be said for other phone systems which do not have the same level of user friendlyiness designed into them. Nortel uses English language menus and soft buttons. NEC and Panasonic, for example, use codes, and are not as user-friendly.

Also, I have yet to find a way to break a Nortel--you needn't be afraid to experiment. With software, you can back up the system (an insurance policy that business can no longer live without).

Yours,
Mike

Can anyone send me a manual in PDF format for this system?
