Hi all,

Problem with our conference phone.

I hooked up a Norstar Polycom Clarity phone to our MICS 6.1 8x32 system. When first powered, the lights on the speakerphone flash red in a sequential sequence. Then the speaker emits a chirp and the lights (power and the three speaker lights) flash green at once. Is the unit defective? Am I doing something wrong. I downloaded a users guide but it was of no help.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Stu

When you recieve the Nortel polycom. It has a complete set of directions and programmingon the box. Do you have the box? Are you sure it is a Nortel polycom and not just a analoge polycom?

Sincerely, thephoneboy

I got the Polycom with a system I bought. There were no instructions. I am sure it is a Nortel Polycom as it say Norstar on it along with Clarity and Polycom.

Thanks,

Stu

The lights on the Norstar conference unit should flash green not red. Ensure that the jack that you are connecting the conference unit to is a Norstar digit port, not an analog signal.

If you are unsure of what the jack is supplying to your conference unit is, call in a technician to verify and correct.

Skippy,

Thanks for the reply. The lights do flash green all at once about every 1/2 second. The phone is connected to a digital port. I plug a T7316 and it works fine. The port is 240. No matter what button I press on the Polycom unit, there is no response. The on/off hook button does not work, nor the feature or any of the number buttons. I wonder if I need to initialze the phone or possibly something else.

Thanks,

Stu

There is no initilization needed. Have you called whoever sold it to you? It is probably a bad phone, or a stuck button. You should call whoever sold it to you or a vendor to troubleshoot.
