Norstar paging

I have a MICS software 7.0 when I connect the valcom to the paging port I can't hear the voice thru the overhead speakers, i know the spekers work i test them with my test set, i read that i can use a trunk port to make it work, i never did that could someone explain how to do it and what programming i have to do , or how i can fix that problem.

First step is to verify if the Page port is working. Use a telephone to press Ftr62, use you butt-set on the T/R of the page port 1/8 jack. Testing 1,2,3,4...

The page port is the yellow blue of the second extension cable right?

If your using zone paging, yes its the yellow/blue. If just paging, its the Black/Slate.

That may be my problem.
Thanks for the tip i will try the test tomorrow to find out if the port is working.

you may want to connect the valcom control to a spare co line port and then give it a access code or a key button assignment. the valcom unit will need to be programed for a loops start trunk.

I read the above in another forum, could someone tell me how I do this(what programming is involved) just in case the page port does not work?

the page out is Black/Slate pair.
the page relay is Blue/Yellow

the relay is a normally open contact used normally with some PA manufacturers to kill the background music right before the person starts the announcement. it is faster than the VOX controlled background music that waits until the announcement starts and then kills the music.

put a butt set on the black/slate pair (in monitor) and make a page. (Feat 62) you should hear the page out.

Make line public and name page then assign to sets and lable page. Press button and access code from unit and speak. Connect line to page unit.
