we are moving 2 systems, one an 8x24 DR5.1 and the other a MICS 6.0.

Both systems will be on Centrex lines that require the user to dial 9 before dialing on the line. The 9 is required by the telco and not the norstar.

what can I do to work around this feature, is there a routing service i can make? What about the 8x24?

You can make both systems Hot Line on pick up. The hot line can include '9' or '9P9'.

PhM

Program every set Prime to Pool, and use External Hotline outdial the '9'. When a user lifts the handset, Pool is selected, and the system inserts the '9'. For internal calls just select Intercom before lifting the handset.

prog any key for ext autodial 9 and then label outgoing

MICS Version 6 will have the ability to use routing. The programming is under the heading Services. Use 9 as a destination code (you'll have to remove it as a pool code or external code first). By default Rte. 000 uses pool A, you can specify that the Destination code 9 will use Route 000 then can use a couple of different methods. When setting the parameters for the Des. Code you can specify that the 9 be stripped (Absorb length: All) or leave the digit in the dialling string (Absorb length: None)which may serve your purpose for the Centex dial 9. If you find that a pause is required between the digit 9 and the remaining numbers, the destination code can also specify an out-dial number. Enter [F][78]

I would check with the Centrex provider and see if you can get the Centrex service with "Assume Dial 9" on each Centrex line. It depends on who the LEC or CLEC is but I've ordered this many times and the Centrex line works exactly like a Business line, go off hook and dial. In the CLEC world I have gotten "Assume Dial 9" through XO Communications but that's the only CLEC that I've used for Centrex. Who is the Service Provider? I would use the LEC if possible and not the work around on the system. Just a thought and good luck!

I vote for trabra. You can then program an Outgoing key. Do Feature * 3, Hit a button and Hit Feature 641. It will grab a line from Pool A.
