I have two Mics networked together. I can call between them using target lines and setting the rec'd digits to match the ext. and ring only on that set. This is going to use up all my target lines however and need some for did use. I was told this was the only way to do it by that I mean using target lines. Is there a way to actually make system A call system B DN to DN without having to use a target line on each set. If so how and do I have to have the advanced networking keycodes to do it. All I need to accomplish is station to station calling between the systems, no voicemail. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Target Lines are the only way to do this. Also the best way is to use this is to get the MCDN ketcodes.

My system A is maxed out so if the only way I can do this is to use target lines then each set on system A would need a target line assigned to it that matches the DN and if we set it to ring only then it will simulate calling DN to DN. This will use up most of my target lines just doing that and I have 80 DID's I need target lines for in system A. Any suggestions? Thanks

What do you mean Maxed out. If you are maxed out the you are using XC software which should give you more than 115 target lines. What software level are you at.

if you do not have the second 6p exp cartridge , you dont get the additional target lines ...

Both systems are on 6.1. I have 176 telephones on system A. I was thinking that there were 200 target lines, am I mistaken about that? I have two six port combo cards and a trunk module, the rest are stations. If I am thinking right then I need 176 target lines for the sets to accomplish dialing between the systems and an additional 80 target lines for the exhisting DID numbers.

I think I've answered my own question guys. I just don't have enough target lines to accomplish this. I am just going to restructure the numbering plan in system A to match their DID's and that should take care of my problem. Thanks for everyones's input.

How will restructuring your numbering plan help you? Won't you still need target lines for each extension?

yes but if your DID matches your DN then you only need 1 target line per DN instead of 2.
