Norstar MICS upgrade 2.0 to 6.1

I am upgrading a Norstar MICS 2.0 up to 6.1
Am looking for the steps and procedure.
There are 45 users. I would like to retain the programming.
I have the 6.1 software, but isn't there a middle step with what they call and upgrade tool? Will i need that?
I am some what familiar but i just have never done it before.

Yes. You need to use the 4.0 Upgrade tool. The 2.0 software is a one piece cartridge and 4.0 and higher uses a PCMCIA style card that is installed into the NVRAM cartridge.

Page 205 of the 6.1 guide

You could use a tool or actual 4.0 software, calling a vendor that has all this would be best so they can do it and save you having to purchase the tool or software's.

-6.1 Software
-NVRAM Cartridge Release 2

Depending on what which voice mail model and software version you have depends on what you need to purchase to upgrade it.

Yes i do have VM. Good question. I may run into an issue with the VM release??
It is a Nam. If I recall...... if i upgrade the MICS to 6.1 the Nam has to be at least 4.1??
Yikes, i dont think the Nam is that high

Yes, the NAM needs to be upgraded to R4.1 if the MICS is upgraded to R6.1.
