Have a Norstar MICS with 5.0 software. Customer has ordered caller I.D. on a couple lines. The caller id cards are installed in the trunk module and not the KSU. The caller id is not working. My question is do the caller id cards need to be in the ksu to funtion properly??

Each user has to have caller ID enabled under telco features and they also have to have that line assigned to ring at their phone if they want instant CID info. As I recall, MICS software versions before 6.1 will only display CID info at the prime set for that line. I'm pretty sure that most CICS software will allow CID info for all users that have the lines programmed to ring at their sets.

If you do need to upgrade their KSU sw, make sure you check their VM sw level also. You may need to upgrade them to 4.1 if they've got a NAM. 5.0 MICS was the last supported for NAM 4.0.
