Hi All

I have a question on how the overflow on our switch is configured and where in the programming. We have a custom auto-attendant that is setup with 6 DN"s off of our switch. When an outside call comes in, it hits the AA and if there are no lines available...it routes to our Operator phone set. The problem is that we want to confirm this and where this is setup so we can rule out another (unrelated) problem we're having with the auto-attendant itself.

Can someone point me to the area I would go to set this up or verify the settings?

TIA
Pikk

Need a bit more info. please.
You said 6 DN's, so are you using 12 ports for v-mail?

and if there are no lines available...it routes to our Operator
Do you mean when all v-mail ports are busy?
If that is the case, the prime set for the lines is set to your operator DN.
Look under LINES, PRIME SET prompt.

I'm not real sure that I am following your question.

Hey Marv,

Thanks for responding. Excuse the late reply. Anyway...how things are setup here is; To re-phrase....we use 6 extensions off our switch (for eg. 300-305) and these are connected to a Dialogic D82 Card in our AA (Auto-Attendant)system. When a call comes in to the CO, it hits a roll-over and gets routed to our switch. Our switch uses the ringing service to send the call to the correct ext number for our AA and from there we do xfers, holds etc etc. However, when the 6 lines are tied up...the call goes to our Prime line (operator phone). My question is...where does this get setup specifically in the programming? I went all thru the programming (admin and coordinator) and could not find it. I'm more curious than anything else. I would like to be able to change this if needed someday.

TIA,

Pikk

Go under lines, then Trunk/Line Data, then PRIME SET.

Also,
Another area to look at is: SYSTEM PROGRAMMING, then FEARURE SETTINGS, then DRT to Prime, yes or no. Then you can set the delay at the next prompt (DRT DELAY)
Hope that is what you are looking for.

I would concur with Marko, DRT to Prime and in the LINES setting there is a DEFAULT DN which is also set to the operators set.

Thanks All!

I'll have a look at that.

Another Question:

We have a need to spilt our Norstar into two separate entities (or companies). What I mean by this is that we are thinking of leasing some office space out to another company and piggy-backing them off our existing Norstar. Is this a fairly easy process to setup? My thought was it should be fairly straighforward using Line Pools and Ringing Grps but perhaps someone out there has had some good experience with this and can offer some tips.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again! The DRT notes were exactly what I was looking for.

It is and it itsn't, I think you are headed in the right direction w/ your train of thought, provided that they dont want VM. If they want VM then I would suggest that they get thier own. I say that because I don't believe until you get into Meridian Mail system that you can't have more than one Main Menu. The smaller units just don't support such a configuration, unless you all wanted to operate as "Thank You for calling, Press 1 for Company a Press 2 for Company B.....". And to me thats more trouble than its worth, but I know folks that are doing it that way and it is working for them.

Good Luck!

Sure, you can do it like you are saying. Also for voicemail, you can use different tables for different lines so that it is transparent to the caller as long as you are using a NAM or CP, not FLASH.
