Regarding: Norstar Modular ICS 5.0 with 10 M7324's with 12 C.O. (copper) lines appearing on all sets. No line pools. Lines "ring" only at set 221.

Situation: The boss calls into Norstar. Says "get Joe on the line". The boss then wants the Norstar to drop out while he and Joe keep talking. NOT WORKING. When Norstar tries to get out, all parties are disconnected.

(1.)Tried this: Boss calls in on line 1. Put him on hold. Use line 2 to call Joe. Activate FEAT 3. Reconnect to boss on line 1. Now we have 3-way conference. Press Rls. All parties disconnected.

(2.)Tried this: Boss calls in on line 1. Press FEAT 70. Get in display " transfer denied"

(3.)Tried this: Boss calls in on line 1. Press FEAT 71. Line 1 starts to flash with "on-hold flash"; I get the 4 Centrex beeps; I dial Joe's number. Joe answers. If I do FEAT 71 again I've got a 3-way call. If I then hang up- all parties are disconnected. If after I dial Joe and do not do another FEAT 71, but hang up after he answers - all parties are disconnected.

Telco: BellSouth swears that the feature "Three-way calling with Transfer" is active on all C.O.(copper)lines. Inclined to believe they turned on whatever alows switch-hook flash, cause I get the 4 beeps (i.e. "special dial tone)

My Programming: Trunk/Line data:
Line Type Public
Trunk Type Loop
Trunk Mode Superv
Link at CO N (should this be Y??)
Loss pkg. Medium C.O.

I found several threads kinda-sorta about this, but the descriptions didn't seem to exactly match my situation. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Link at CO should be set to Yes!
Use the Feature 71 senario.
Ask Telco if they are allowing link on their side.
Go into Terminals&Sets and Capabilities and set Allow Link to yes also.
Then try it. MRoberts

One thing before I go back to my customer site. I do not see "allow link" in the Terminals and Sets; Capabilities section. What am I not seeing? Thanks. pbxkeytek

Does your programming come up Terminals&Sets?
If So then show set: ____ Enter the extension number that is doing the transfering.

Sorry to be a pain, but here is how I understand Allow Redirect Y or N, found under Terminals & Sets. For example: My ext is 223. On ext. 223 I have lines 1,2 and 3 programmed to appear/ring. I said Y to Allow Redirect on ext 223 under Terminals & Sets. The telephone number for line 2 is 8135551212. What I wish to happen is that when 8135551212 is dialed from outside of the Norstar, that it actually ring my home telephone number which is 8135551234. To accoumplish this I decide to to invoke call re-direct. I press FEAT 84, press line 2, enter 8135551234, press OK.

This process has nothing to do with taking a inbound call to the Norstar and transferring (via FEAT 71) it out of the Norstar, thereby freeing up the Norstar lines. Does Allow Redirect really need to be set to Y on each phone? Will it matter if it is set to Y or N ? I really want my ducks in a row before I re-visit my customer tomorrow. Any and all comments appreciated. Thanks. pbxkeytek

In order for you to take a call into the switch and then send (transfer) it back out of the system you have to have allow redirect set to yes on the extension doing the transfering. It is part of allowing the trunk to trunk transfer you're wanting to do. MRoberts

You also need disconnect supervision turned on the lines.

It is found under LINES -show- SHOW LINE: - XXX - TRUNK/LINE DATA -show- TRUNK TYPE -next until- TRUNK MODE -make sure it is SUPER.
