norstar flash unresponsive

I can dial the extension and it asks for "Log:" it is not taking the 1020000......when you dial any VM feature code, it tells me feature inactive....any suggestions?????

Has the Flash been initialized? try F903 or F901 I can't remember which it's been a while since I have installed a Flash. Some times on the older flash if they lose power or take a surge I have had to reinstall,again it is 903 or 901 CONFIG.

F903 when it brings up the codes does it give you a NEXT softkey? if so that is the correct code to Initialize the Flash.

Dial F903. At the prompt for F980-989 just press OK to activate your feature codes.

Sounds like your flash programming took a dump. I hate flash voicemails

Using a serial cable, connect a laptop to the flash. Power down the Flash. Using hyperterminal (settings - 1200,8,N,1), use password (uppercase) SYSMGR and power up the Flash. You might get some errors that you can search this site for (I did and my error said the flash card was bad). Another thing to try, power down the Flash for 30 seconds and power up. If that doesnt work, power down for about 30 minutes. Hopefully this helps.

If you have a flash 4 try removing the upgrade module and power up, this will force a reboot. then follow initilize procedures. After it boots up you can add the upgrade module.

Try shutting it down for a minute, and then reapply power. I got a "Admin in use" message and the only way I was able to fixe it was to cycle the power. I was afraid that I would have to reprogram the whole thing, but it came up in 5-10 minutes and we were back in business.
