With the Auto Attendant and CCR both off, you use feature*833 to access greetings. When you select record the response back is 'Try Later'. Anyone else have this same trouble? You can listen to the system greetings and all greetings can be turned off or on. Record is the function that does this.

A Rebbot has been tried as well as 'Startup' and a total system reprogramming.
Thanks for the response bkrike.

Thank you for the reply. Do you mean that AA prompts is turned on as part of the purchased software or is this done by the installer?

Nortelnorstar, If you are referring to turning on AA via the installers access then this has been done. I can access the recordings but I cannot use REC...it comes back with 'Try Later'. I have not run into this problem with previous versions of SW. The manual says that AA and CCR must be turned off (F*831 and F*832)in order to record a personal greeting.

when you log in to feat*833, and enter your password, what does the display of the phone read?

Feat*833,enter passwaord and the display shows Auto Att Greetings. You have a choice to show, exit and next. Press Show and the display is Att greeting A. You can Ghg, Show or Next. Press Show and the choices are Play, Rec or OK. Press Play and the system tells you that no greeting is recorded and kicks you out. Enter feat*833 again and do the same process but this time press REC and the system comes back with Try Later.

As I said earlier... software must be ordered with "auto attendant prompts" without this feature activated, the built in auto-attendant will not allow you to record custom prompts. You can purchase a key code from your vendor to activate this feature.

I have never had the need to setup the internal AA, but my previous question was asked to find out if his software has the ability to record, and I think it may.

From the manual:
after entering feat*833...
If you have the capability to record your own system greetings, the display shows Auto att grtngs.
If you do not have the capability to record your own system greetings, the display shows Change rec time.

So, TM may be correct, or something else may be going on, but as I said, I have never really tested the internal AA.

I have been informed that the software has to come equipped with AA promts from Nortel. If not you cannot use anything other than sys greetings. It will display 'Try Later'. My supplier is checking this out as I may need keycodes to enable AA promts. Thanks for the posts.
