I have a customer that would like us to install a CICS 6.1 with a Call Pilot 100 Voice Mail System. They want the Auto Attendant to answer all calls, and prompt callers to enter the extension of the person they are calling, or press "1" (or another number) for Customer Service. The Customer Service Center is across town, so we would like to activate a "Call Transfer" feature on the lines (LEC will have call transfer feature on the lines, which is activated via Link or Flash) by "Flashing" (I believe it is 500 ms) the CO, have the Call Pilot dial the number of the customer service center, and then hang up and drop off the call. Is this possible with the CICS and Call Pilot? I really don't want to install the system if it can't be done and have to hang my head in shame when we can't get it to work. I have asked two of our technicians, one doesn't think the Norstar can do it, and the other thinks that it might be able to do it, but doesn't know how.

Any input would be appreciated. I have read in past posts that programming #52 plus the Outside Number to Transfer to into the dial string might accomplish this, but saw no mention of disconnecting or hanging up the call and don't want the trunk to remained tied up. Any ideas?

It will do it use the link feature (F71) you use this in the Call Pilot dial stream to flash back to the CO.

I was up against the same scenario last week with a MICS and CP150. I couldn't get it to work. The transfer string in the CP doesn't like F71. It works fine on a manual transfer. If you can get it to work let us know here, because I could make some people really happy here in Calgary.

DID you try it with a pause behind the link? This way you give the CO a chance to return dial tone before your digits start to go out. I've had to do that at certain locations.

refer pages 73 adn 75 in the CP telephone admin guide

you prepend the number with a #.

the # generates the link ...
i think i spoke with u yesterday abt this

We played around with a Call Pilot and MICS today, and have apparently gotten it to work. No transfer on our lines here, but were able to activate a conference calling feature that utilizes the link. Used external transfer, (line), then inserted a # followed by a pause and the number to dial in the CCR tree. Thanks everyone for all your help.

the way I did it with a NAM and FLASH both is on the ccr tree make a external transfer path to get the call out. this should work for the CP100.

Path:
OK
OTHER
XFER
EXT
POOL
1 (for pool a)
OK
PHONE
# 5 2 (this is the string that puts the # on the screen and returns you to entering more digits) X X X X X X X
OK

#52 actually means (#)change to special characters (5) enter a pound sign (2) return to normal digits.

you can make the changes also by inserting the # on the browser programing point
