Any Norstar CISC / MICS Software release is acceptable!

MTBF for the gateway is 50,000 hours

NG,
Dumb question from the paleantology lab here but... what does MTBF at 50,K hrs really mean?

Is there any indication why you would use this new product over and above say the new Linksys unit?

PhM

It means that in an installed base of 50,000 units, one will fail every 60 minutes. :)

This is good news. I saw a article on this and being able to actually have a network btween mics and cics units will be a great selling point. To really get the most out of this though it looks like you would want to have auto-answer DISA trunk ports hooked up to it for a more seamless dialing.

BTW MTBF means "Mean time between failure" or the estimated average number of hours that a unit will operate before failure. it can be extrapolated as above or look at it as on the average each unit will run for 5.7 years before it fails.
