Hi guys,

Two part question:

1) I've created a two level CCR...home and a sub menu node. Customers are to access the sub menu node (8 transfer nodes) by pressing 5 on their telephone keypad.

After the listening though the 8 options, my thought was that the greeting would repeat itself, but callers are instead disconnected. How might I resolve this issue? I've read through the documentations that accompanied the product and have not come across any solution.

Sample:

Main Greeting
Welcome to....

Home Menu Node
If you know the extension...
Opt1...
Opt2...
Opt5 staff directory

Staff Directory Sub Menu Node
To return to the previous menu...
Opt1...
Opt2...
Opt8...

2) 6 inbound/outbound 1FL lines feeding into Norstar Compact ICS phone system interfaced with a 4 channel Call Pilot system. Call Pilot has been configured to allow 3 channels to handle inbound calls and the remaining channel (1) to handle outbound type calls. I've noticed on many occasions that the staff and customers requiring access to the CP (AA or V/M service) and the service not being available. I've configured the system so that when the ports are all in use, calls are then routed to the receptionist line; however, the staff and customer (more so staff) want an immediate resolve to this issue. My dilemma is that the CP purchased is only a 4 channel unit with no room for growth. Now that I think about it, my only option is to plead my case to the powers that be for the okay to make the purchase for an 8 - 13 port CP?

Thnx,

Andru

Question one... you must set "return to AA" to yes to stop the disconnect. You should include in your home greeting "press x to repeatthis message" and set x to repeat the home greeting.

Question two... 4 channel should be sufficient to handle 6 lines. Your 4th channel should be both in and out bound. Are you certain all channels are working? Can you dial feature 985 from 4 phone simultaniously?

i'd like to first thank you for the quick response.

i've set the return to 'aa' parameter to yes without any luck. from the company greeting menu calls are automatically routed to the home node menu. from the home node menu i'm able to replay the greeting by pressing '9' or remain on-line to be transferred to the receptionist, however, from the staff directory sub menu, if no option is selected, i'd like callers to then be routed to the receptionist, instead of having the call disconnected.

from reading the documents keys 1 - 8 are used for menu options. 0 -used for operator assistance, 9 - for language, * -previous menu, and # - name dialing - how can I create my own prefix digit to allow for the solution you’ve suggested?

“You should include in your home greeting "press x to repeat this message" and set x to repeat the home greeting.”

all channels are accessible. i didn't see an option to allow the 4th channel to be used for both inbound/outbound call type. is it to be assumed that if the channel is available and a 4th inbound call is a received at the CP, that the channel would then be used to facilitate the request or would the call just ring out until channel 1 - 3 becomes available? i've configured the system to route theses calls to the receptionist’s set after 8 rings in the event AA isn't picking up inbound calls.

thnx

You set path 8 (or any path you like) as an info point with nothing recorded you then have return options of either home or previous or disconnect. So in your home greeting would be press 8 to hear this menu again.

All CCR menus should time out to ATDT setting of the table you are using.

All channels are available for incoming. You then designate which are used for outbound (if any).

How are you routing to reception.... DRT to prime?

How are you routing to reception.... DRT to prime? Yes

I'll remove one of the paths from the submenu to allow for a return option.

Your response to my many Qs have been a great help, thanks.
