I have a customer that is trying to get some specific info off of an SMDR, mainly abandonded calls. We have been successful in seeing that info as "no answer" in the Norstar format of the SMDR.

*However*...the software he is using (this is for multiple sites, and he wants an easy to use format) cannot pull the data from the Norstar format, but can from the SL1 format.

Using the SL1 format, I cannot find any record of unanswered calls. Is there something I'm missing, or is this data not recorded at all in SL1 (which doesn't make any sense to me, since this is supposed to be used with external software).

TIA-

The Real Norstar real time record format, or the all record format may be what you are looking for. specificaly the incoming calls that are denoted with a starting asterisk have for the last entry a G,D,A,N,T, or R designating Ringing(G), DNIS(D)Answered(A) No Answer(N) Transfer(T) released (R). the real time is only spec'd when CLID info is available so you would want to continue using the ALL record format to catch the nonCLID calls. I havent had much time to read up or try this out, I am going to though but I thought you might find this much info useful.

Thank you for the reply, Jerry-

If I'm reading it correctly, you're stating that I must use the "norstar" format, all calls correct?

The issue is that the software that is being used is not compatable with that format...it must be in SL1 for it to pull data, which is my problem- as I can't see where the SL1 format provideds "unanswered" call data.

If I'm incorrect, plz feel free to correct me. This thing makes me want to pull my hair out!

I re-read the smdr-6 book again and I don't see anything to give you the kind of info you want from the SL-1 format. It only seems to be in the real time format.
you could run a second smdr in slave mode and reporting the real-time format. this would give you the call data to the call accounting system and also give you on a second database the info on abandoned/dropped calls.
not the most elegent but it should work.

Thx again- You confirmed what I suspected about the SL1 format.

I've been on the phone with another software company that is telling me that their product works with the Norstar format, so this may eliminate the issue altogether...we shall see.
