norstar CICs will not answer, but when global card is replaced with a clid card, there is no problem

I had one customer where the new global card just died one trunk at a time. I had to replace the card, KSU and software before this problem went away. software level was 6.0.

also the customer could not make calls out as well as incoming calls. hope this info helps you.

Jerry, thanks, but what release of card did you find failed and what rel was the new card?
We have these two and think that the Rel 03 are the problem.

I've just gotten a CLID card made in Mexico..its not ringing the sets for inbound..but outbound ok. I'll provide the model and release info tonight..but its new in the.. I've tried an alternate CLID and CICS works fine.

sorry I didn't keep the info on the setup, by the time I got it working again for sure the equipment was returned to nortel.

The CICS in my office would drop calls and not give dialtone for periods of time. At first it would clear quickly and only happen every few weeks. It got bad enough that I could troubleshoot as I would have to reboot the Norstar to clear the NDT. I used an older CLID card and it worked fine. I replaced the original global card and have had no problems for 6 months.
