I have a C6 caller id unit to connect to a Norstar 616 DR5 and cannot get caller ID information. I do not have any documentation on the C6 Caller ID unit. I connect 1 station port to the unit (screw terminals near amphenol connector) and programmed for line appearance and ring. The lines 1-4 are cross connected in parallel to wh/bl thru wh/brn.

What programming needs to be done on the 616 itself? I do a Feature 811 and only tells me Line X is ringing.

Thanx

you still have to pay for the CLID service from your dial-tone provider. Have you confirmed it is arriving on site?

do you have a delay in the call getting to the 616?

needs a 2 ring delay.. clid is sent between 1st and 2nd ring

ski season has started

Make sure your cross connect for the lines goes through the c6 before the KSU.....IN PROGRAMMING go to call info and set abilities...only one set can be programmed for automatic caller id after 1 or 2 rings..the rest of the sets have to use F811....

I understand that CLID is sent between ring 1 & 2. Is there a programming parameter in the Norstar so it does not ring right away (delay)?
Can I somehow verify the connection between the station port and the C6 is functioning properly?
I will review my call info and set ablilities. Thanx

Its gReat to have a single Line phone with you that has caller Id to make sure LEC is sending Caller Id like they said they would.

I have a butt set and put a CLID device across the lines. I got suckered into installing the C6 unit the guy bought off the internet (and it's NOT new). I also had to remove the DR3 software module and install a DR5 they acquired. I play with Avaya by day, and get sucked into others headaches by nite. It's gotta be a programming or connectivity issue. I'll find out first thing tomorrow.

Have you been able to verify that the C6 is functional on some other KSU?

I do not always trust equipment from E-Bay...I usually go to other on-line vendors that give me a 1 year warranty.

Through my own headaches and also in helping others with the "missing CLID information" I have almost always found that the call was being answered to soon. I hate it but usually you must make sure any devices and or AA settings are programmed to answer after two rings.
