NORSTAR 3X8 CAPACITOR

i have a Norstar 3x8 serving a customer for ages... now it run out of capacitor battery so every time there is a power failure we have to program it from scratch. i remember it was possible to replace the power capacitor could someone confirm? what is the procedure?

Power down, tear apart, remove cap, re-solder new cap, reassemble, reprogram. Better yet, install KSU behind a UPS.

Don't go the UPS route to solve this issue. It won't solve your problem. That split second it takes when losing power for the UPS to kick in is still enough time to lose the programming.

That's right. I didn't mean that that was all you needed to do, but an extra step. Sorry for any confusion.
