Hello,
Can anyone tell me what the "0 x 32" stands for on a Norstar PBX System? If I were to guess, I would think the 32 stood for 32 ports; i.e. the user could connect 32 phones, but that is just a guess & I have no clue what the 0 stands for. The company I work for owns a Norstar 0 x 32 system, and I have been asked to see if it is possible to connect more phones. The little bit of documention I could find does not shine a whole lot of lite on the system specs......If I am incorrect on my guess, can someone tell me how many phones can one connect to a Norstar 0 x 32 system?
Thanks,
Craig Barroll

0x32 is equip with 32 station ports and no trunk ports, there are 2 slots in the main cabinet you can put any type of trunk card into these 2 slots. T1, tie, did, co. yes you can expand it by buying a expansion unit and a unit to place in the 0x32 that will have the fiber ports nessecary to connect to the expansion unit

Ok - I take it then that the "basic" 0 x 32 with the 32 stations can accomodate up to 32 phones, and if I need to add more phones, I need to buy the expansion module? Is this correct?
Thanks,
Craig

Yes you would need an expansion card installed into the 0X32 for the 0X16 (station module) to plug into.

Do not forget some voice mails use copper ports also, look at the vmail and count modular telephone cords coming from it.
If you have a fibre vmail than you allready have an expansion cartridge in this case.

Fibre expansion cartridges come in 2 and 6 port.
