NoRows Not Working

Hello,

I have a fairly basic report (no headers, footers, or subreports) I created using Reporting Services 2005. It contains a few tables and a couple of report parameters.

I need the report to display a message when there is no data. I created a simple dataset (select 1 as datavalue) and assigned it to a small textbox so there will always be something displayed on the report. I then set the NoRows message on one of the tables. When I deploy and run the report, I still get a blank page. I don't see my NoRows message.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi fuzzyocelot,

Do you have the visibility property of the table set up with an expression? That's the only way I didn't get my NoRows text. I rarely use the NoRows because of the white space it leaves and IMO it's not visible enough, instead I set up an expression to hide the table and add a textbox which spans the width of your report with the text centered, I place the textbox below the table with the text No Records Found and set the visibilit property of the text box to : =iif(countrows("DataSetName")=0,false,true).
