Hello all,

Looking for the best way to accomplish this. So we have normal call flows that follow a 8:00am to 5:00p Time Profile (Currently the Time Profile is in VM Pro) however they would like a button (Ideally like a HG Fallback Button that visually illuminate when activated) to override the time profile should they be in the office late.

What would be the best way to accomplish this?

Thank you!

Create a dummy hunt group in IPO. And assign HG OOS button for that group to the user's phones.

After the start point of your call flow add a generic action followed by a "route by variable".

In the generic action use "User/group settings" and "Get". Choose "hunt group service". The value of the group status will be saved into call variable $SAV.

In the "route by variable" choose $SAV as variable and route from result 1 (HG in service - Button light off) to the current call flow and from result 0 (HG Out of service - button light on) to alternative actions.

You can also set another result (2 - HG Night service) for another case if needed.

I currently have no VMPro client available so the names can differ but I'm sure you will get what I mean.

Hi derfloh:

Thank you for the information. This is my first time using this Variable Routing so I am a bit confused.

I created a Dummy Hunt Group Called: "OpenLate"

I added the Generic Module and here is where I am getting lost:

Below is what I have however I am not sure if Correct:

Also, I created a button for the new "Open Late" Hunt Group "Set Hunt Group Out of Service" however what should I put as the "Out of Service Destination"?

Thank you!

The "Open Late" hunt group is used only for monitoring its status and routing calls based on that. You would probably also want to check the box to exclude from directory.

The call comes in, VM looks to see if you pushed the OOS button for "Open Late", and branches appropriately based on that info

TouchToneTommy: Thank you. I did exclude it from the directory. Does everything I have programmed looked to be correct? On my testing it appears to be working perfectly.

And just to confirm, the OOS Destination for the "Open Late" Group should just be left at its default <None>, Which I assume because it is indeed working.

Yup, you don't need to set the "Open Late"'s OOS destination, nor the Night Service destination.

derfloh: Good thought, plus that makes the programming a bit cleaner.

So say I wanted to add another Call Flow Override to a Emergency Closure or something similar. What would be the best way to include that into this call flow?

Add a Set Hunt Group Night Service button for the "Open Late" group, label it Emergency Closure, and when you do Variable Routing, check for a value of 2, connect it to the emergency destination.

Also, in your Night menu, add a hidden option, protected by a password, that uses a Generic action to SET the Service Mode of the "Open Late" group instead of reading it for call routing. The office is closed for an emergency, and you can't get there to push a button, you can call in, dial a sequence and password to turn the Emergency menu ON. When the office reopens, you can go to the phone with the Emergency button and put it back to normal mode. Might also want an option to record the Emergency message, so you can keep it up to date from outside the office

TouchToneTommy, Always appreciated, Sir. Thank you.

TouchToneTommy: I have a question on how this is working. How does VM Pro know that when I set the Hunt Group "Out of Service" to follow "Variable Routing" Option 0 and when the group is set to "Night Service" to route to "Variable Routing" Option 2?

Thank you. Pretty cool. Learn something new every day.
