Mitel MXe MCD4.1.

All I want to do is introduce a delay in a caller being sent to voicemail if the destination set is busy, giving the destination set time to finish off a call and pick the new one up. Currently my first alternative is set to voice mail.

I read through the help files and done some tests with no success, when busy, the call goes directly to voicemail with no delay. If I change the 1st alternative value back to the default I get the busy tone.

Any ideas.

There is not an option on the 3300 to CampOn before forward busy. You either CampOn or you forward.

If you program a Multicall of the prime (on the same set) then the DN is not considered busy unless both keys are busy. The called party can either receive a burst ring, continuous (normal) ring, or just flash on the second key. There are trade offs, but multicall may work for you.

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.

You can also create a unique second line - the multicall may be better for you as kwbMitel suggest.
Crete the second line, in your 1st alternative, put in
This, This, this, This, Last, Last, Last, Last with a target of your new second line.
In your second alternative form be sure something points to voicemail - I always use option 2.
Then in your call rerouting assignment, go to your prime number and put in your new 1st alternative and your new second alternative.

Actually, you can leave the call rerouting as it is, then at the phone, forward on a busy condition to your new second line.

BTW - Now you can see why the multicall is easier.
