I'm running a series of Solaris 10 servers with sendmail. I would like all of the internal corporate e-mail and internet e-mail go to out using our corporate relay server. I'd like to have e-mail for the local users (root mostly) to either be mailed locally or better yet to be forwarded to a group e-mail address set up on the corporate e-mail servers. These servers do not receive e-mail except for whatever is generated internally by cron and stuff like that.

Part of the problem comes in because some of the e-mail addresses I need to send to are very picky about the "from" address. For example, our cellphone e-mail addresses will reject anything that was sent from user@servername.domain.com. So, I have to set DM to domain.com .

As it is working now, everything works except that internal e-mail from root is being sent to root@domain.com which doesn't exist. I've tried setting up aliasing to get the e-mail to be sent elsewhere with no luck. I've tried setting up "CL" to get root delivered locally. I think I had the stickysessions/mail_hub/local_relay set up so that it should have been delivered correctly, but it either failed totally or would be sent out as root@mailrelay.domain.com (name of the relay server). I've been mostly updating submit.cf since I do believe that submit.cf is what deals with outgoing mail.

I'm just a hack at this, so I've spun my wheels quite a bit and just can't come up with a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated... but remember I probably don't know what you're talking about :)

Thanks in advance!!
