Noob Can't Publish Update

Was successful with my first time publish. Went back in to update home page and fix some broken links (forgot to rename .dwt files to .htm). Publish seems to work as required, no error messages, files are going up, but nothing changes on the site. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Are you viewing locally cached pages rather than your updated versions?

I am going to a separate browser and viewing the website which doesn't show the changes.

Have you had a look at the time stamp of file on the server?
Is it the new or original version?
I found frontpage would occasionally decide not to publish certain files so use it only for creating basic HTML.

No, the time stamp is not changing on the server. It is the original version. I don't know what you mean about using it only for basic HTML?

I ended up just copying and pasting from my computer to the server the pages that had changed and that worked.
