Hello, I have an x3650 M? with 6 HDD bays on the front. Currently 2 ~80GB 15k SAS are being used in the RAID. I am wondering if it is possible to put a non SAS SATA hard drive in the computer and have it show up as its own drive? I tried to put one in, but it didn't show up. Any ideas?

Thank you!

It would show up on the raid controller, and need to be configured from there, before the OS can do anything with it, Yes SATA drives can be used on SAS connectors and adapters, just not the other way around. You would also have to reboot the server so the raid controller could find the drive.
