I know I found information on DNS application directory partitions a few months ago, but for the life of me when I google it now I can't really find anything. Basically, what I want to do is create DNS partitions on a server which will NOT replicate to the other DC's in the domain/forest. Can anybody give me some guidance on how I can do this?

Also, ideally what I'd like to do is have only one zone that doesn't replicate. Is this possible? Or is it "all or nothing", ie either all the zones replicate, or none of them do?

Thanks in advance

You can create a DNS zone on a Domain Controller (also a DNS server) and make it NOT to replicate to other Domain Controllers. All you have to do is, uncheck "Store the zone in Active Directory" when you create the new primary zone.

Hope this helps.
