I'm sure this is in here somewhere, but have checked FAQ & Forum and cant find complete answer. Standard T1 programming; past ESF/B8ZS, T1, put the channels in your pool of choice, what are the other basics? I am pretty sure you have to tell it "all TIE" (thanks merlinman :)) but then is it TIE-PBX? TIE-toll?

This is actually a 2-part question. Once you have messed it up completely to the point that you need to reset the board, what is the process to clear out all the prior errors? I have been told by Avaya that sometimes that is the necessary "last step" when you have programming incorrectly and have this right but there are still messages in the error logs.

You guys are the best :)

To answer the first part we need more info. What kind of T1 is it. Point to Point to connect 2 legend/magix/Definity/whatever together(on a side note, if you are connecting 2 legend/magix systems together use the PRI option with Tandem trunking) or is it a long distance T1 from a LD carrier(MCI or whoever they are today.)

Answer 2: If you want to clear the errors out the error log, go into the error log. maintaince-->system-->error log-->select either permenant or Tansient, when you see the error press (alt and p together with SPM) or (drop button with a MLX or 4424ld phone) If you go into the Error log screen and see nothing and get an annoying beep, then there are no errors.

Hope that help.

It is just a regular T1; digital; 2-way DID coming off an integrated router with 8 channels going to the system via a DS1 card on the Magix and 10 going to data via not my problem...

Post a printout of the config so we can see what you have.

Do the DID numbers match the Dial Plan?

Make sure the DS1 clocking is set properly in the integrated router and other parameters for the pass thru channels.

I am actually more interested in the steps "a to z" as a reference document than I am in the setup for a specific installation. I usually manage to muddle through and figure it out and it would be kindof good to skip the "muddle through" and start with working...if anyone has such a document...thanks. D

I've got a nice little PRI "cheater" if you want, but it doesn't address straight T1s. Please email if you want it (that goes for anyone). You can find me by putting a period and a "com" behind my forum name.

I have a couple of the PRI ones; still waiting for info on non-PRI; or just answer one question - after you choose "all tie" do you have to pick PBX, toll, or switched 56? What causes the CLEC to "not see wink?" and... is there a way of testing T1 boards if you don't have a working T1? would a loop back plug in the board work? (So I guess its more than one question, but this is an ongoing struggle every time I do one of these...) Thanks.

I have put alot of T's in and they were always TIE-Toll. Also you should only program the channels you are going to use. When i have made them all tie-toll then the inuse light stays on all the time. You can plug a loop-back in and then the card should come up. You will not be able to make calls but the lights should go out.
