I have a computer at home with a slow modem connection and I need to install a newer version of IE. I want to burn a CD copy of the IE5 installation from a location that has a faster download , but I can't find a place to get a self installing version. Does anyone know of such a web site that might have it? Microsoft sells the CD version of what I want, but apparently it takes like a month for delivery and I can't wait that long.

Go out and find a copy of Maximum PC magazine, or check the website.
I think the free CD you get with the mag contains a full copy or the 128bit IE 5.5 as well as Netscape 6.1 and a whole bunch of other free stuff. Cheers,
Jim

If you have some software like AutoCAD or some Adobe products,
there are full installations of IE5 on the CD's, (you have to
browse for them) You dont even have to be online or download
anything.... Jay~

ok, that Adobe sw option seems like the best idea. Checked out the 'MaximumPC" magazine and the CD mentioned wasn't in this month or last month's edition - guess it was available several months ago.

You could download it overnight by using one of these policies. No matter what you do, you';ll end up having to connect to download additional files.
