What steps do i need to take to add DID's to a non local dial plan. Customer has two Merlin Magix with point to point PRI. Currently 12 extensions are being routed to distant end. Two customers are moving to other facility and would like to keep their same DID.

You would need to put those two extension numbers in your Non-Local Uniform Dial Plan, so the system knows to send those calls to the other switch.

If you want to post a print of your Non-Local UDP, and tell us the two extension numbers, we could give you the steps.

The following is a print of the dial plan. The two extensions I need to add are 267 and 277.

NON-LOCAL DIALPLAN

4) 260- 261 01 03 21) -

Pattern 1:

Pool Absorb Other Digits FRL Call type
1)890- 00 -------------------- 0 BOTH
2)---- -- -------------------- - -----
3)---- -- -------------------- - -----
4)---- -- -------------------- - -----

This one is pretty straightforward. However, you also need to do some programming at the other switch, where these two extensions will live.

On this side, it's simply

Menu
System Program
Start
SysRenumber
NonLocal UDP
267
Enter
267
Enter
3
Enter
01
Enter

Then do the same, but use 277 instead of 267.

For the other switch, do a print of its NonLocal UDP, and you should see tables that would point 267 and 277 back to switch 1. You have to delete that range, and then recreate ranges that go from the original range's starting point to 266, another that goes from 268 to 276, and another that goes from 278 to the original range's ending point.

This assumes that there was one continous range that covered 267 and 277.

Again, if you want to post a print, we can give you the specifics.

BTW, you'll need to renumber your existing 267 and 277 to something else (such as their setup space 71XX numbers) before you can change the UDP.

Sounds easy enough. I can't print a dial plan for the distant end until tomorrow so I'll do that and post another question if I have any trouble.

Thanks

Okay, here is a print from the other end. How do I remove 267 and 277 from this table? sysrenumber/non local udp then ?

NON-LOCAL DIALPLAN

2)---- -- -------------------- - -----

Pattern 2:

Pool Absorb Other Digits FRL Call type
1)70-- 03 301----------------- 0 BOTH
2)---- -- -------------------- - -----
3)---- -- -------------------- - -----
4)---- -- -------------------- - -----

OK, the range we are concerned about here is:

6) 266- 299 01 03

So we need new ranges of:

266-266
268-276
278-299

All specifing 3 digits, using route 01

This will bypass 267 and 277, keeping them on the local switch.

So, like before, it's:

Menu
System Program
Start
SysRenumber
NonLocal UDP
(Starting Extension in the Range)
Enter
(Ending Extension in the Range)
Enter
3 (the number of digits)
Enter
01 (the route to use)
Enter

Do this and you should be set!
