As a retired user, I have chosen to continue with R13 (yes, I know it's old --- so am I).
Following a hard drive crash, I loaded AutoCad on my "D" partition (the 2nd partition on my 1st physical hard drive) - and my drawings to the "E" drive (the 3rd partition on my 1st physical drive). I open AutoCad in the "drawings" file. I had no problems with installation - nor any with it's use, except as outlined below. I did not try printing, however, until I had replaced my old HP printer with an Epson 2200.
My problem is that the 'textfill' command will 'take' and hold the '1' for filled text - but there is no change in the onscreen text (yes! I regenerated) - nor will the text print solid. Fill, on the other hand, does change polylines to show solid on the screen - but they also will not print solid. With the previous installation on my crashed hard drive and the HP printer, both worked without a hitch. The two thoughts that occur to me are: 1. A bad or incomplete installation, or 2. A problem having to do with the disk locations to which I installed.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
