non expiring passwword

To set a user's password to not expire

solaris:
passwd -x -1 userid

aix:
pwdadm –c userid

hp-ux:
?

Hello,

non-expiring passwords are default in HP-UX; man 4 security for details.
You may overwrite the default setting for a specific user by passwd -x <days> <user>.
But as far as I know you cannot reset it to not expire afterwards by passwd command.

There are two options left:

Use sam:
Accounts for users and groups
Users
<choose user>
Modify password options
No restrictions (normal behaviour)

Or use vipw
(only if you exactly know what you are doing!!)
