Hello All.

I am using Excel in XP Pro.
I want to do is a SumIf function that picks up non-blank data for all cells.
Since " " is for blank cells what is the code for non-blank.
It's monday & I just can't think of it.

Thanks for all help.

Can you provide some sample data? I don't understand why you can't just use SUM(). If the cell is blank it will add zero, if the cell is non-blank it will be included in the sum (if it is a number).

well "" is actually a "blank" cell so if you are saying that the cells you don't want to count =" " then use

="" = Blank cells
<>"" = Non-blank cells

But Zathras is right, unless you are trying something else and haven't explained it clearly enough. It's Monday for us too remember. [morning]

Peace! [peace]

Zathras & xlbo :

Thanks for your replies.
xlbo, I modified your answer to "<>".
That is what I needed.

Again thanks for your help.

Thanks All,

I spent all day trying to figure out how to use SumIf with non-blank cells.
