We are a Lenovo house when it comes to Servers/Workstations.
Have any of you experienced blowback from Avaya for not using their Dell R360 platforms?
Any down side from an IPOSS perspective?

They'll probably complain if you install it directly on the server but if you run it under ESXi you're fine.
They do have a license for customer-provided server but it's only under Controlled-Introduction, don't know who can use that.

It is all a mater of perspective

If you are purchasing the hardware from Avaya then you are not buying a Server you are buying a telephone suystem

the fact that it looks like a Dell server is irrelevant.
Would this be an issue if the box was branded Avaya IP1000 or similar? of course not.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Since support tends to try and find any reason not to handle a ticket they would most likely blame the server if they see it's not "their" server.

I would install it on ESXi since it doesn't add cost, and since on the VM specs you can adapt the resources it needs depending on the customer you might fit something else on the same server.
