What is needed to connect a non-Avaya h.323 IP phone (like a free softphone) to a S8700 running CM 3?
Thanks in advance.

You can,t use an 3th party h323 phone

Then you need a SES-server and you can connect any sip phone/softphone

Hmmm, I remember that you could add a phone of type 'h.323' but the problem with applications like netmeeting was that you couldn't enter a pincode which was required by the definity.
So yes I you should be able to add a h323 station but registering is something else...

No, you can,t register a h323 3th party phone if its not aproved by avaya......

Believe me i tried to register a 1000+ wifi solution but avaya said forget it buy avaya phone,s or avaya supported phone,s like spectralink.....
