Not sure if this is to be done with MS Access..

One of my client requires to connect his nokia phone to PC and recieve messages to MS Access DB or compare the messages to records of the DB. It should be done automatically.
Is there anything I can look into? Nokia PC suit may be used with this but I don't know where the messages are being stored , How frequent the messages are transfered to PC.
Only issue is to get the messages to Access DB/in a string, the rest is not a problem for me.

Thanks for any help

Zameer,

What version of the PC Suite are you using?

As far as I know some of the older versions use an access DB to store the messages whilst the newer ones use *.vmg files.

With the *.vmg files I think you will be able to parse them similar to a text files though from what I understand the format is not quite a normal text file (I think the lines are terminated with a /0)

For the newer one's I think the files are located in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\MPDB40\"

After a very quick search the two most useful links I found were here and here

Hope this helps

Harleyquinn, Thanks for the input.

In fact I am a fan of Samsung products from years. I have used Nokia some time before for a couple of months. I know very little about Nokia & PC Suit.

Nice links for a start.

Let me install PC suit in my PC and try with my wife's mobile. She is using Nokia.
If it is an MDB then nothing to worry!! The *.vmg file may be one to see what actually is.

I will come back later.
