Hi all,

I know this a forum about checkpoint, but I figured I ask being that Nokia is build on checkpoint.

I have a few Nokia IP120, my problem is with access permission.
I'm trying to run the ipsoinfo command to generate a .tar file. It comes up with cpinfo not found and also access denied..Here's the log: But it does create the .tar file but I can't open it.

HIGHBRIDGEWALL[admin]# ipsoinfo
Saving system summary

Saving MANIFEST files of active packages ...

Saving IPSO configuration files (/config)

cpinfo: Command not found.
/var/etc/cpinfo: Permission denied.
rm: cpinfo.FIREWALL.11.11.2004-0707: No such file or directory
Saving CheckPoint log file (/var/fw/log/fw.log)

Saving local config files (/var/etc)

Saving IPSO log files (/var/log)

Saving cron state (/var/cron)

Saving admin dot files (/var/admin)

Saving console messages

Saving ipsrd dump state

Saving IPSO kernel status file (ipsctl -a)

Saving base IPSO core dumps (/var/tmp)

Saving other core dumps

Saving kernel crash dumps (/var/crash)

Compressing output file.

I did copy the cpinfo to the /var/etc directory and checked the permission the cpinfo executable.
also when I'm at the admin prompt and do a / why does it come up with access denied...I am using the admin acccount to login..

Any suggestions would be great.

If you look at the cpinfo binary in /var/exec, what permissions does it have?

This is what I've just got from one of ours ..

cpinfo: Command not found.

======================================================================

WARNING: cpinfo is not installed on the platform or is not executable.
This means your ipsoinfo file will not contain Check Point-specific
onfiguration information. cpinfo will need to be obtained from the
following URL:

Once you have downloaded this utility and uncompressed it from the ZIP
file, place the cpinfo binary in /var/etc on your platform (e.g.
cp cpinfo /var/etc). Make sure the file has execute permissions
(e.g. chmod ugo+x /var/etc/cpinfo).

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the input.

I did everthing that was suggested..

I then did ipsoinfo [-0 to generate the file. The file got generated:
When I try to open it with winzip:
I get the following error "Invalid Compressed Data--unable to inflate" Then Invalid archive directory"

Any suggestions?

This might just be a problem with Winzip. Try sending the file to someone else to try opening. Also, how did you get the file off the Nokia? Did you use 'bin' mode to do the FTP transfer?

Chris.

Hi Chris,

I sent it to checkpoint, they are also having problem opening in.. I used tftp to transfer the file.

I was looking thru the process when I run the ipsoinfo command and I notice on the first line it reads:
Segmentation fault (core dumped), but it still generate the
.tar file. It's just I can't open it.

Any other suggestions,

Thanks again.

I would suggest running ipsoinfo again and then using FTP to get the file off.

Chris.

Hey Chris,

I did numerous times on a couple of ip130, but same result.

Well in that case, I really don't know. I did it on one of mine and it went through okay.

Hey Chris,

I totally missed the part that you suggested binary mode as I was uploading the file in ASCII.....As soon as I changed it to Binary I was able to open the file.....

YOU THE MAN....

Thanks alot.

Glad to be of help.

Chris.
