Hi all
I'm trying to hook up a PPP leased line connection using two Nokia DS 60100 baseband modems on both ends. My problem is that I don't have enough information on how to operate these modems. I can find absolutely nothing on the Internet, most probably because of the age of these modems.

I'm specifically trying to find out how to connect the line interface. The modem uses a 6-pin RJ12 jack for this interface. Which wires on the RJ12 do I use on a 2-wire leased circuit?

Also, my modem has a 15-pin X21 interface. Can I connect it to my Cisco router using the normal Cisco X21 cable (60-pin male to 15-pin male cable)?

If anyone has any experience with these modems, I'd appreciate your help.

I know nothing about these modems but if you have a X21 15 pin presentation on the modem then a standard 60/15 pin X21 cable should work fine for you.

I agree, the X.21 part is probably the easy part.

Regarding the interface. Does the FCC label give a USOC code? That will allow you to determine the pins used.

A good chance is pins 3 and 4 (center pins).

You probably have to set up one unit as clock master and the other as clock slave.

good luck
