I am experiencing noise on the ports anytime a call is sent from the OPT11c to the Octel 250. The noise is a low level whine which is present all on 12 of the ports. Has anyone experienced a problem like this?

There was a no0te 0o0n this and i can't find it but it had to do with the card rel level in the nortel so try a newer card for the 2616 sets

Hi tarheel25

Proper grounding of both the PBX and the OCTEL voice mail server is necessary.
It is also necessary to control if the ground is "the same" for both systems, i.e. the systems should be interconnected "ground-wise".
Also the use of ferrite cores to all lines between the two systems.
When all this is has been done (or corrected), then the upgrade of software and firmware can take place.

I have saved many hours of work STARTING with the checking of proper ground installations.

Best regards dotor

Hi tarheel25

doktor is right, correct grounding (earthing) is essential, in fact VMX tech support would not give any help to we engineers in the field unless the system was earthed correctly.

There have been field reports of users hearing popping, clicking, or static when connected to Voicemail ports using FLT-N or PIC-N cards. It has been determined that a combination of a short loop between the PBX and the FLT-N or PIC-N card, and the use of NT8D02 AB and NT8D02EB RLSE 3 cards may experience this problem. Other versions of the NT8D02__ have not experienced this problem. RESOLUTION: A new revision of the FLT-N card for the Octel 250 is now available. The original FLTN part number - 044-2541-001 - should continue to be used when ordering a replacement. The revision number for the new FLTN is "A4". Replacement FLT-N's should be ordered only if the above mentioned symptoms are being experienced. **** Updated Information **** A new revision of the PIC-N card for the Octel 350 is now available. The new part number of 244-2087-011 should be used when ordering a replacement. However, if you order the card using the old part number you will also get the new card. Additionally, new Overture 350s ship with this new card. Replacement PIC-Ns should be ordered only if the above mentioned symptoms are being experienced. If you have any questions, contact
