I am having a bit of a weird problem on 2 of my windows nt servers the each give the following error within the event log. "No Windows NT Domain controller is available for domain <domain name>. (This event is expected and can be ignored when booting with the 'No Net' Hardware Profile) The following error occurred : The remote procedure call failed and did not execute".

This problem only became apparent when we tried to PCAnywhere into the server (using the password we were sure worked). We couldn't pc anywhere in and when we went to physically check the password on the server we got an R"PC Server is unavailable" error. And additional piece of weirdness is if you try to launch user manager for domains you get "Not enough server storage available to process this command. Do you want to select another domain to administer".

If there is anyone out there that could possibly shed some light on this one I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks !!!

Here goes. I am assuming that you have a PDC and two BDC's. If I am correct I will go on. Assuming what I said is true, I would see if the PDC is communicating with the domain, If not, there is your problem.

One of the machines is the BDC (also a DHCP/Wins server) and is running service pack 6.

OK, The problem is still your PDC is not communicating with the BDC. You might want to search Microsoft KB on the term "Secure Channel Coomunication."

What is the event ID for the "No Windows NT domain controller" error? How often is this error appearing? Are you able to log on to these systems?

Check your registry size and quota. Ensure that you have space (a couple MB) for your registry to grow.

In the registry, check the value for,
Code:
HKLM\System\CCS\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PagedPoolSize
