I cannot RDC into my 2003 server from my XP box anymore---I have been able to until today, for abot 6 months. I really don't knopw much about server OS's, so please forgive the newb question. I am just confused, because it never gave me this error before. No recent Windows updates, and to my knowledge, nothing has changed. I only use this thing as my FTP server. Terminal Services is running on both computers.
Thanks for any help. By the way, I did reboot both machines to see if that would help...nothing.

Question.. are you sure you are only running Remote Desktop for Administration on your server (installed by Default), or are u running full blown Terminal Services in Applications Mode. If you have the latter installed, then yes this is by design if you don't have a license server installed (which the full blown version requires) you will be "locked-out" after 6 months.

That must be it---what can I do with the current setup? Or do I have to KVM and transfer all files in the inetpub folder to my XP machine over the network and reinstall 2003 or XP Pro on it?

What you can do is un-install Terminal Services. This will not hinder you from running in Terminal Services for Remote administration. In order to transfer files in the meantime, you can always map a drive to the server and copy your files. Hope this helps.

After reading your first response, that's the first thing I did (remove the Terminal Server role). That did not help. Looks like I will transfer files, reinstall Windows, and transfer them back. Actually, I just added another hdd (slave) because I was running out of space on C:, so I was maybe planning on installing a different OS anyway...
