Hi everybody inm this forum. I work with many nortel devices at work, here's what happened yesterday: we have a Nortel BPS 2000 and we couldn't enter trough telnet(we had to change the paccess password), so i decided to actually go where this switch is located, connected nmy laptop to the BPS, made the password change ( cli password read'write xxxxxx, cli password telnet local, exit) ; everything worked perfectly and i was able to enter with this new password trough telnet. The thing is i tried a couple of times more, and all of the sudden i couldn't enter again, all i have is a blank screen, no nortel menu, nothing. I tried with the Device Manager and the switch is operative, but i can't enter trough telnet. Hope i can get an answer about this.

Did you try entering ctrl-y after telnet connection?

Of course, i tried everything. The telnet connection allow me to introduce login and password, but then nothing happens.

We've had similar problems with telnet but also the other way round with no snmp-connectivity. Been told that it's a problem with resources in the BPS and 450 family. A restart have solved our problems. The problem dissapeared on our 450 when we upgraded them to the latest available firmware.

This was a known issue in earlier versions of BPS2000 software. I would recommend software version 3.2.1.
