Hi

I have a make-table query that creates the destination table and fields but no data, if no data is returned by the query criteria. What I would like to do is make is so that if no data if returned by the query, a take is not made.

Hope you can help.

Thanks,
EToA

you would need to evaluate the data before the query. In otherwords, you would need to run a query before running the maketable query and then if there is not data, do not run the make table query.

Thanks, but that's not really an option as there are quite a few make-table queries that I would all like to run from a macro.

Cheers,

That's the only option there is. If you don't want to make the table if there is no data, then you need to run a query that checks if there is any data first.

Why don't you put the query to check to see if there is data in the macro as well? In the macro, you can do if statements to make decisions on whether to run the make table or not.

Frankly, when it comes to development, there is always an option. It all hangs on how much YOU want to put into it.

Yes, I understand that and knew about the macro option but just wondered if there was a way in the make-table query itself but obviously there isn't.

Thanks,
